When I was in LA recently I had the opportunity to meet Guru Singh, a fantastic and inspiring kundalini yoga teacher and musician and take part in his classes at Yoga West LA. This is the place where Yogi Bhajan used to teach in the beginning when he came to LA in the late sixties. Guru Singh is a third generation yogi; his ancestors served Paramahansa Yogananda until his death in 1952. Guru Singh began his yoga studies with masters in 1950. He started Kundalini Yoga with Yogi Bhajan January 10th 1969. A KRI Lead Trainer and Sikh Minister, Guru Singh teaches throughout the world.
Guru Singh´s classes, which are one and a half or two hours long, usually starts out with humanology where Guru Singh talks about different subjects in a very entertaining way and after that comes yoga, meditaion and chanting. Guru Singh also plays his guitar and sings together with a group of other musicians, during his classes which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
Guru Singh has a website with recordings of his classes. Here is a link to the class ”How to Coordinate Beauty of Concept & Duty of Reality” which I actually happened to attend when I was at Yoga West. And here you can find other class recordings to listen to or download.
If you want to listen to his music you can listen to it and download it here.
